The Kraken Bakes

The Kraken Bakes is a Norwich-based food producer specialising in gluten-free and dairy-free cakes. Run by husband-and-wife team Kayleigh and Scott Carey, The Kraken Bakes produces a wide range of delicious cakes, supplied to cafes, hotels, delicatessens, and other food outlets in the region.

Kayleigh and Scott are committed to crafting delicious, allergy-friendly treats that everyone can enjoy. Their philosophy is that dietary restrictions should never mean compromising on taste.

The client had begun to develop a website on the Wix platform, but progress was slow and the site wasn’t doing justice to the quality of the business and the products.

Clarity Digital was instructed to design, build and host an eye-catching new website that would tickle the tastebuds of visitors and increase sales. The new site also needed to engage food retailers who would be keen to stock the client’s cakes.

As with all food industry websites, the pictures tell the story, so we were focused on creating a site that was very visual. It was also important to tell the client’s personal story, conveying their passion for the food they produce.

Our design included a news / blog feature, upcoming events, as well as built-in e-commerce, for when the client is ready to launch online sales.

Clarity’s commission also included graphic design (improvements to the client’s logo concept) and fully managed website hosting.
